Podcast Script: I was born in the 1970s. As a child pondering the future, I assumed robots would be an integral part of our world. I imagined a world where robots would free us from doing the things we didn't want to do...cleaning our houses, washing our dishes, doing our laundry and so on. This was based on my generation's limited experience with technology. However, Millennials have grown up with advanced computer technology. They use computers and smart phones to do just about anything...shopping, doing homework, managing finances, playing games and staying connected. Sorry robots...maybe someday.
Podcast Reflection: When completing this project, I was continually reminded of the actual theme of my podcast...that there is a gap between the technological knowledge between my generation and Millennials. Not to say you can't teach a dog new tricks, but it just might take a bit longer to learn. I experienced difficulties all along the way, but really, really enjoyed learning the process despite the frustration that came with it. It may not be perfect, but it was certainly fun.

Presentation Reflection: This project helped to give me the much needed experience of formulating a variety of lesson material. I am so grateful to have found Prezi! It is such a valuable and effective tool; so much more dynamic than Powerpoint. I have shared this information with the teacher I am doing my observation hours with and she is excited to use Prezi as a learning tool in the future; she currently uses an overhead projector and handmade worksheets. It was also very helpful to see the variety of material my fellow students created. I came away with a variety of ideas to use in the future.

Art Application Review: I found this assignment very valuable in that it emphasizes that as educators we need to be up to date on any relevant technology that might help us to teach a lesson or reinforce concepts and skills that students are learning. I can see that if a teacher is not up to date, that the divide will become exponentially larger as time goes on as technology is advancing every day. I thought the process in finding relevant art applications/programs to very worth the time and effort as it took some time to find the application I eventually ending up using, but I found a lot of great lesson ideas and other useful information along the way.

Art Lesson Group Project Reflection: It was really great to collaborate on a lesson, as everyone had a variety of input to contribute. We had a very broad idea of a semester long series of lessons. Narrowing down our ideas was a bit difficult in the beginning, but then everything seemed to come together. Overall, I think we all really worked well together and I am very pleased with the end result. I really like our concept and hope to be able to use all or part of the components in the future.

Animation Project Reflection: Ok, just as Laurie reported...this assignment really was the most fun! It was a happy accident that I ended up not doing the idea I had for rotoscoping. The concept and the process I ended up doing with stop motion was really enjoyable all the way through. I used a mixture of stop motion and Photoshop visual effects. It was an exciting technique and added some real personalization to the images I put together to make the film. I can see that this would be an excellent assignment for students in an Art 3 or Art 4 class...or within a Digital Arts class.

How To Video Reflection: The hardest part of this project was trying to think of something to demonstrate. I found a phone book left on my door step and wondered why they still distribute them when almost everyone has a smart phone now...seems like such a waste. That was when I decided I would some how recycle it to use it for an art project. This assignment was extremely helpful as I expect to make many of these in the future with my students. It was helpful to get some more experience with iMovie as well.
